Music Features Of The Apple iPhone 4S – A Closer Look - News Broadcast

Music Features Of The Apple iPhone 4S – A Closer Look - News Broadcast

In this post I will take a closer look at the music features of the apple iPhone 4S.  Well known for its versatility, especially when it comes to music, this handset is considered one of the best.

This is thanks largely to its integrated iTunes and iPod functionality, which make it extremely simple to both download and play music on the go.

In order to download music, you can use the iTunes app which is pre-installed on the iPhone 4S.  This gives you access to millions of music tracks and albums, as well as TV shows and films.  With such a wealth of content available, who are sure to find something you would like to download.  Of course, you can also transfer your existing music collection from your computer onto the iPhone 4S.  This is carried out using the desktop version of the iTunes software.  All you have to do is connect the handset to your computer using the supplied USB charger cable.  Once everything is connected, simply click on the ’sync’ button and all of the music files stored on your hard drive will be transferred onto your phone.  With storage variants starting at 16 GB, you have plenty of potential storage space which means you could easily store thousands of tracks on your iPhone, ready to play whenever you like.

The built in iPod function is almost exactly the same as a standalone iPod Touch, which is renowned for being very easy to use, and has intuitive menus which make it very simple to find the music you are looking for based on criteria such as artist, album and genre etc.  The unique coverflow feature is also included, which displays album art which can be scrolled through to find the albums and tracks of your choice.

When listening to music on your iPhone 4S, you can either use the built in stereo speakers which provide decent sound quality for such a compact device, or you can opt to use the supplied iPod earphones which are instantly recognisable with the white colour scheme.  Because these use a 3.5mm audio jack, many other types of earphones and speakers can be used with the handset.

Because of its capabilities as a music player, the Apple iPhone 4S been replaces the need to carry a standalone music player with you.  Its ability to replace other devices forms a massive part of the appeal of the iPhone 4S, and its music capabilities perfectly demonstrate this.

Samsung Galaxy S3: Virtual Showdown of Voice Assistants S Voice and Siri [VIDEO] - ibtimes.co.uk

Samsung's answer to Apple's Siri is reportedly an advanced natural language User Interface (UI) that will allow, in addition to voice-activated information searches and device-user communication, a degree of control over device functions and commands. It can, for example, be used to set alarms, play songs, control audio volumes, send texts and emails and organise schedules. It also controls the camera app on the phone.

Unsurprisingly, both S Voice and Siri demand properly enunciated user commands, rely on search engines to provide answers and tend to redirect queries to a Google search. Apple seems to have an advantage over Samsung in terms of the speed with which the programmes respond to queries, as well as the depth of answers. Siri, for example does not provide for results of a search within the country of the user and does not help with location-based queries, unlike S Voice according to a report on The Verge. In addition, Siri tends to talk a little more than S Voice, which comes with an audio-off option.

Essentially, while Siri responds faster, the S Voice offers a greater array of performance-related options, meaning, theoretically, one can do more with Samsung's assistant than Apple's.

GSM Arena also ran comparisons and they included the Speaktoit Assistant (for Android). The results were mixed. The test involved a series of questions tasking all programmes with basic operations like sending texts, enquiring after traffic conditions, recovering information for basic (random?) trivia questions and interfacing with social networking Web sites - Facebook.

On the whole, S Voice and Siri performed better than Speaktoit, which was to be expected; the notable exception was the request to update Facebook with a new status - Siri was unable to comply while the other two did. Between Samsung's and Apple's programmes, however, the primary difference seemed to be speed of response, with Siri, once again, shading S Voice to the post.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Outguns HTC One X in Benchmark Tests - mobilenapps.com

The UK release date of Samsung Galaxy S3 is just around the corner. Samsung's upcoming devil will debut in UK, Germany and other parts of Europe on May 29, while it will go on sales in U.S. sometime in June. The top-class innovative features and high performance delivered by quad-core Exynos processor makes Galaxy S3 popular enough to inspire millions of people to preorder the device. Reportedly, Galaxy S3 preorders have topped 9 million.

Powered by quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos processor, Galaxy S3 is not the only quad-core rig in the market, but it is the one that has received top spotlight. The biggest competitor to Galaxy S3 is HTC One X, which is powered by quad-core 1.5 GHz processor.

The world is eager to know that which of these two Android super phones is faster. Samsung-made Exynos processors are excellent performer. However, Nvidia Tegra 3 processor in HTC's bet is clocked at higher clock speeds. The competition is believed to be tight. However, the latest benchmark scores have made things go easier for Galaxy S3 to defeat HTC One X in performance department.

Folks over at Cnet UK tested both the devices with various benchmarks and found something interesting - the 4.8-inch Galaxy S3 outgunned HTC One X in most of the benchmark tests.

In the popular Quadrant benchmark that tests CPU, memory, I/O devices and graphics, Galaxy S3 earned 5,289 points beating the One X that scored 4,904 points in the same test. In a similar test, Antuntu benchmark, Galaxy S3 got impressive 12,112 points again beating One X which got 10,827 points.

Galaxy S3 again bested in GL Bechmark's Standard Egypt test running at 59fps. Reportedly, the quad-core graphics powered new iPad also scored the same. HTC One X is again lagging in the test with a rate of 52 frames per second.

Thanks to the Exynos 4 Quad chip, Galaxy S3 has enough power to outshine against any current generation smartphone. Earlier this year, Samsung announced that its new processor supports clock speeds higher than 1.4 GHz. As the device is out, restless folks at XDA will soon find a way to overclock the processor chip to its full potential. The new chip is as energy efficient as it is powerful. Utilizing the DVFS (Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling) technology, it will have option to turn off each core whenever not required.

iPhone 5 supply news to shake things up - Phones Review

The Apple iPhone 5 looks set to be the major launch of the year with many analysts predicting more phenomenal success for Apple with the next iPhone. Traditionally sales of the latest iPhone are always massive but the iPhone 5 in particular is predicted to be so huge that it could shake up the global supply economy.

The iPhone 4S was seen by many people as a minor upgrade rather than a major revamp (although some would dispute that). As many people held off purchasing it because there was no design change, there’s already a huge potential customer base for the iPhone 5. Add to this those purchasing an iPhone for the first time, those upgrading from earlier models, the likely addition of LTE connectivity and the headway that Apple is making in the China market and we can take it as read that the iPhone 5 will sell in unprecedented numbers.

The upcoming iPhone 5 has even been blamed for recent news that for the first time since 2009, global mobile phone sales have dropped. Analysts feel that this is mainly because smartphone customers are holding off making new purchases in expectation of the next iPhone. We recently told of a report from Piper Jaffray analysts Gene Munster and Douglas J. Clinton that gave some clues about the iPhone 5 and also told how it was expected that the iPhone 5 would be the biggest product launch of the year. They also referred to the iPhone 5 as the biggest upgrade cycle “in smartphone history,” so all of these factors together gives a good indication of just how successful the next iPhone will be.

The impact of sales of the iPhone 5 and the finances involved then will massively affect the global supply economy. This will be particularly evident among suppliers of parts for the iPhone 5 bearing in mind that we expect to see quite a few changes in companies used. Slash Gear reports on some of the supply change leaks referring to several recent reports from China. Firstly it’s said that Apple has placed an order with Elpida, which produces flash memory products, for more than half of their parts in-house. Elpida is a competitor with Samsung, with whom Apple has a long-running and well-documented dispute.

Next we hear that a group in China called TXC, a quartz crystal device producer, has also been given orders for component parts for the next iPhone. DigiTimes has reported that TXC is also supplying orders with Samsung for its upcoming Galaxy S3, the iPhone 5’s main rival. As well as this many readers will already know of Foxconn’s connections with Apple as its main China-based supplier for the iPhone and iPad and the company has now placed an order with Sharp for displays. Foxconn will purchase up to 50% of Sharp’s large LCD panels and modules from its Osaka, Japan plant. This makes perfect sense as Sharp had already been heavily rumored to be a parts supplier for iPhone 5 panels.

In final supply news, Apple and Foxconn are currently in plans together to establish a brand-new factory in China, dedicated to making parts for Apple products. As you can see, the finances involved from such a major product as the iPhone 5 could really see some shifts in the global supply economy, with some companies set to be big winners while others will lose out. One thing for sure about the iPhone 5 is that it’s set to fly off the shelves when it finally releases, most likely in the fall.

We’d like to hear what readers think about the upcoming iPhone 5. Have you already decided to purchase it, even before any specs or features are confirmed? Do you agree with the analysts who say this will be the biggest upgrade cycle “in smartphone history?” Maybe you feel such high expectations could lead to disappointment for some when the iPhone 5 is launched? Let us know by sending your comments.
