We've seen a lot of iPhone 5 concept designs, but this one takes the cake.
Created by 17-year-old Dakota Adney, the mock-Apple commercial shows a realization of how the iPhone 5 could look with a transparent screen and virtually projected keyboard.
In the video above, Adney shows the viewer various applications from Twitter to Instagram To write a text message, the iPhone 5 concept user sets down the device flat on the table and begins typing on a virtual keyboard created by a laser projector on the lower left side of the device.
But what may be most impressive about this fake Apple commercial is its creator. Adney is a 17-year-old Oklahoma high school student with some pretty advanced production skills.
This iPhone 5 concept is not his first faux Apple creation. Under his production name, Adney Films, Adney also created a similar iPad 3 concept video last year, and more recently debuted a clever MacBook Air promo. His iPhone 5 design is similar to the iPad 3 with its translucent screen and slim look.
Adney described the features of the iPhone 5 concept in the video's description.

The new iClear Retina display presents sharp graphics and stunning images. iOS 6 will take your iPhone experience in an entirely new direction. And if there's anything else you need, just ask Siri.

A minor iPhone app update in preparation for bigger changes - The Guardian
This week, we launched an update to the Guardian iPhone app. On the surface it may seem minor: a much improved experience for new users; changes to subscription options; and general low key features and bug-fixes of the kind that we've been working on since late summer 2011. Behind the scenes however, this update prepares the app for a number of exciting changes that we've wanted to implement for quite a while - and that users have been asking for too. These include:
• The ability to join our discussions by enabling you to submit comments as well as read them
• Custom Olympics pages and coverage
• Better articles with more usable styling such as web links, defined quotes and headings
• More media in articles including embedded images and videos
• Easier content discovery with related stories for articles
• A better and smoother subscription process using Apple's renewable subscriptions model
We're aiming to get these features to you in a number of releases over the summer, starting with our special Olympics release next month.
Unfortunately, working on increasing the quality and features of the app means that we've had to make the difficult choice to stop supporting older versions of iOS, with the latest release (2.3) being the final release for iOS 3. We cannot support older versions of operating systems in perpetuity because doing so comes with large technical costs - every feature or bug-fix has to be tested across multiple devices and different operating systems. From this week, that would mean supporting four major releases of iOS. You can quickly see how the effort ramps up, and after a point it significantly slows down our development. Additionally, there are some features that we're itching to implement that aren't available below iOS 4. Here again, supporting old versions of iOS starts seriously impacting on the experience we can give our users.
Apple's update cycle is usually very successful. As such, there are a very small number of app users that still run iOS 3. However, If you are on iOS 3, I'd like to assure you that you can continue to use the app, and at the moment you'll be able to continue to subscribe. However, you won't be able to download future updates.

T-Mobile offers free 4G phones for Father's Day, with small catch - Los Angeles Times
T-Mobileplans to give away free 4G phones for two days as part of aFather's Daysale that begins Friday.
The sale includes all 4G phones supported by T-Mobile's network, but the phones aren't exactly free when you get them.
A spokeswoman for T-Mobile explained that anyone wanting to partake in the sale will have to sign up for a two-year contract and pay for the phone up front. T-Mobile will then give them a mail-in rebate card, making the phone free.
A bit tricky, but eventually it's free, assuming you send in the card.
Among the phones included in the sale are the HTC One S, the Samsung Galaxy S II, the Nokia Lumia 710 and the BlackBerry Bold 9900. The T-Mobile Springboard tablet is also included in the sale.
“We want to say thanks to fathers for all they do and keep them easily and affordably connected to family throughout the entire year,” said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president of marketing for T-Mobile, in a prepared statement.
It's a great sale, but it's only available through T-Mobile's stores, not online. Also, the sale will not include the heavily anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III, which T-Mobile begins selling June 21.
Existing T-Mobile customers can take advantage of the sale, but unless you've had your phone and plan for at least 18 months, you'll have to pay a migration fee.

Is this the new iPhone 5?
Images published on a Chinese tech blog purportedly show “leaked” photos of the unannounced, unreleased, unavailable Apple iPhone 5 -- the hotly anticipated next version of the device that rewrote the rules for smartphone makers.
The images show a sleek, two-tone design, described by popular tech blog Gizmodo as a shocking change. The site's editors came around, however, admitting that “the first appearance of the stylized, 16/9 design with its unibody … looks kinda beautiful.”
Or did, before pulling down the post -- fooled by the phony knock-offs of a 36-year-old industrial designer.
“It’s been amazing and a lot of fun to see how many 'knowledgable' people fell for them,” Dutch designer Martin Hajek told FoxNews.com. Gizmodo wasn't the only blog to fall for his pictures. They have been posted on about a dozen popular sites so far, including BGR.com, Ubergizmo, Apple Insider, and more.

“It's a testimony to how embedded Apple has become in our daily life,” he said.
The images are a series of renderings Hajek created and posted to his Flickr site based on leaked images he had seen on various tech websites. He describes his passion for smartphones and tech design as his hobby.
“As a (former) industrial designer I like to play around with 3D modelling and visualizing,” Hajek told FoxNews.com. “Apple's unreleased products lend themselves perfectly to play with.”
Hajek works as an engineer for a large Japanese consumer electronics company he declined to name -- not in the design department but still quite close, he said. He cut his teeth at GRO design, a small design consultancy in the Netherlands, and still lives in Utrecht, “dead-center” in the Netherlands.
“One of my previous employers at GRO design attended the same college in the UK at the same time as Jonathan Ive did,” he noted.
Ive, senior vice president of industrial design at Apple, made waves in the week’s before Apple launched the latest MacBook Pro at its Worldwide Developer Conference. He told London paper the Telegraph that neither the iPad nor the Macintosh nor the iPhone is the most important product the company has ever done.
It's the secret something he’s currently working on that has his heart racing.
“What we’re working on now feels like the most important and the best work we’ve done,” Ive told the paper, when asked what he would like to be remembered for.
So which version of the iPhone does Hajek carry around?
“I’m actually ashamed to say that our company's choice of cellphone is a Blackberry Bold 9780,” he told FoxNews.com, “which I hate with a passion.”

The latest set of leaked Apple iPhone 5 images have fooled many but are in fact faked.

The crop of images circulated round the web yesterday with many sites saying they are authentic. However, the photos posted on sharing site Flickr were rendered in modelling software Rhinoceros 3D.
The images depict what the iPhone 5 could look like based on various pieces of leaked information, including a 4in screen and a smaller dock connector. It also shows a metal rear cover, bottom mounted headphone port and larger speakers.
It is still unknown as to when the iPhone 5 will launch and even if it will be called the iPhone 5. It's likely that the smartphone will tip up this autumn, possibly September, in-line with the launch of iOS 6 which Apple announced this week at its worldwide developer conference (WWDC).
