It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S III release date cannot catch a break. Samsung announced the gadget would hit U.S. markets on June 21st, but apparently Apple wants to thwart their plans. With the iPhone 5 release date on the horizon, it isn't that hard to believe Apple would try to stop the Samsung Galaxy S III from hitting the market.
The Galaxy S III preorders have already begun, and Android fans are super excited to finally nearing the end of their seemingly endless wait for the hot new 2012 smartphone release. Unfortunately, if things go the way Apple wants, Android fans may be in for an even longer wait before they can get their hands on the new popular handset.
Is Apple just jealous that Samsung, whom had formerly supplied components for Apple's products, is doing so well with their new line of smartphones? Of course Apple has been very sue happy with regards to any technology they deem as "theirs," but who wouldn't do the same if in the technology giants shoes. Apparently Samsung is allegedly stealing apples from the wrong tree.
Apple insists Samsung "infringed at least two of its patents based on its analysis of a model bought in the UK," but the makers of the S III insist they've done no such thing, and stated "the launch would proceed as planned." It didn't take Apple to unleash their legal team on this one did it?
Apparently Apple has filed a petition which would seek a temporary ban on the sale of the Samsung Galaxy S III in the United States. Clearly Apple doesn't care what consumers want, but have their own agenda to fulfills. Obviously true Apple lovers are going to remain faithful to their well-loved smartphone, and will happily await the new iPhone 5 release date. So why the big fuss Apple?
Some would argue Apple wants to monopolize the smartphone market, since they now have so many Android phones to compete with. It isn't like the old days of 2007 when Apple was the major player in the world of smartphones with the first generation iPhone. At that time no other handset could really compete, and the iPhone was all the craze. Now that other companies have developed their own smartphones, some feel Apple is being sue happy in attempts to quash all other devices on the market.
On the other hand, it can easily be argued that other developers have stolen ideas from Apple's products, including the iPhone. After all, look how quickly news surfaced about Facebook snapping up several ex-Apple employees whom had personally had a hand in developing the iPhone and iPad. It can be argued Apple is only out to protect what they've worked so hard on over the last several years. The technology giant is known for releasing cutting-edge products and devices which seem to further advance our technologies with more futuristic ideas.
At this time, the Samsung Galaxy S III release date in the U.S. is still a go, and everyone will have to wait and see if Apple will prevail with their attempts to ban the handset, if even temporarily.
Additionally, the iPhone 5 release date remains unconfirmed, with speculation mounting over what's to come at the WWDC and beyond.

iPhone 5 Rendered in 3D Based on Leaks [Video] - Softpedia
Haymond says “there’s been quite a bit of hype recently in the Apple universe over the imminent announcement of a new iPhone, or rather the new iPhone (aka iPhone 5).”
“Many of the biggest media outlets have already published photos and videos of ‘leaked’ parts that are supposedly from the iPhone 5 as it makes its way into the manufacturing phase at Apple’s suppliers.”
So the designer though “it would be fun to piece together these fragments to see what the iPhone 5 might look like when Apple makes the big announcement.” The end result is the video embedded below.
Haymond is an industrial designer. He made the renderings using the same type of software that was used to design the actual phone, he said.
“As I looked closely at the sometimes blurry photos of the parts, I noticed some things that I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere online,” he said.
Among those things, “the mute switch and volume buttons all appear lower on the left side of the phone than previous models,” he noted.
Another finding was that “the back side of the phone looks to be flush with the aluminum bezel.”
The designer clarifies that the front glass panel is still extruded, “but perhaps slightly less than older models.” Haymond believes these design elements “should all equate to a thinner overall phone.”
Another discovery of Haymond’s, “the camera and flash [...] appear to be higher on the phone, closer to the top than to the side, ostensibly to provide room for the unibody design of the back panel.”
Finally, he points out to the the metal bezel (the antenna frame on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S) which looks dark-gray only on the black model, whereas “the white model keeps the bezel the standard silver color.”
Haymond also has a bunch of high-resolution renderings that the media will undoubtedly use to the max in the months leading up to Apple’s announcement.
More iPhone 5 details leaked thanks to back plate video - mobot.net
The iPhone 5 rumors are really starting to heat up. Yesterday we had some analyst guy essentially reiterating the notion that the iPhone 5 will stretch to around 4in, complete with some nice diagrams and that.
Now we’ve got more juicy iPhone 5 info, courtesy of a video appearing to contain the back plate.
The video was posted on YouTube by Etrade Supply, and seems to confirm what we already know – or think we know – about the iPhone 5, along with some new stuff. ‘Citing.
The iPhone 5 back plate is the same width as the iPhone 4S, but taller and slimmer, which is pretty much what we’ve been hearing for the past few weeks. We’re told to expect a 4in iPhone 5 with 16:9 aspect ratio.
Interestingly, the headphone jack on the iPhone 5 appears to be on the bottom of the device. Is that a good thing? The jury’s out...
There’s also – shock horror – a smaller dock connector. Finally! Death to the giant beast. As a result, there’s now more real estate on the bottom for meaty-looking speakers.
And finally, the SIM card tray is a different size. Woop.
And there you have it; the iPhone 5’s back plate. Salt? Well, if it’s a fake, it certainly gets an A for effort.
iPhone 5 video based on all the leaks and rumours - Pocket-lint.com
Some creative type has gathered together a horde of iPhone 5 rumours and supposed leaked images, pieced them altogether and constructed a video of what we might expect.
The video shows both a black and white version (complete with aluminium back panel) in 3D as they swivel around 360 degrees.
It’s all the work of Bryce Haymond of Blackpool Creative, who must have had to shelve through countless amounts of online speculation in order to conjure up his high-resolution iPhone 5 renderings.
“Many of the biggest media outlets have already published photos and videos of ‘leaked’ parts that are supposedly from the iPhone 5 as it makes its way into the manufacturing phase at Apple’s suppliers,” said Haymond.
“I thought it would be fun to piece together these fragments to see what the iPhone 5 might look like when Apple makes the big announcement.”
So how many leaked parts has Haymond included? Well we’ve spotted the taller display, the aluminium back, the centre facing camera, the 4G connectivity. Anymore?
How close do you think this iPhone 5 rendering might prove to be? Let us know what you think.
