Committed to delivering Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1)-ready solutions to public safety agencies today, the two companies have entered into a corporate supplier agreement that enables Motorola to resell Intrado products and services globally including the Intrado VIPER(R) and Power 911(R) products.
Today, citizens expect to place a call for help either by voice, text or sending images and video. Vodafone takes majority stake in Vouchercloud - Mobile Entertainment
Raises its shareholding from 21 per cent to 57 per cent.
Vouchercloud is active in the fast growing location-based m-commerce space. It uses GPS to alert users to discounts, codes and vouchers for daily shopping from shops, restaurants, travel and financial services companies.
Vouchers are downloaded with a single tap, then shown to the sales assistant in store to redeem the discount.
Since its UK launch in 2010, Vouchercloud has gathered 1.8 million registered users, with 700,000 of them active. The app has been downloaded more than 2.5 million times. Currently, more than 2,000 merchants are offering 8,000 discounts, vouchers and loyalty schemes.
The service is live in the UK and has launched in Ireland.
UK operators are moving into the location based commerce sector along with 'OTT' players like Google and Groupon, with O2 for example offering its own Proximity Moments service.

Now Vodafone has consolidated its presence by taking control of Vouchercloud, and has the first option to increase its direct shareholding further in the future.

In his latest post, Benny admits that at some point, everyone has wanted to learn to play the guitar.
He explains that, while iPad users have always been able to take advantage of the tablet’s large screen, until now there has been little iPhone users can do to make themselves a musical success.
All of that is now changing, with an iPhone dock shaped like a guitar. Or, as it is officially known, the gTar.
“The Kickstarter project will retail for the price of a regular guitar once funding is complete in late June. In just a week, gTar has already reached its $100,000 fundraising goal—showing the demand for iPhone owners to have a way to learn guitar like our iPad owner counterparts” Benny explains.
The unit, which will eventually retail for $450, holds the iPhone in a docking bay and lights up to guide users through each and every chord. The gTar is set for a summer release and is poised to become the hottest iPhone accessory of 2012.
“gTar actually picks up the vibrations from the integrated sensors, detecting how the player is doing and relaying the information to your iPhone. This means you’ll get real time feedback on how you’re playing” Benny adds, discussing how the gTar will be fully interactive.
To make it even more impressive, the gTar has three levels of difficulty and is pre-loaded with thousands of real songs.
Of course, the fact that the gTar is laid out like any ‘normal’ guitar will allow users to pick up a real guitar at any point and put their new-found skills into action.
