Robust & Reliable Communications for Every Water Adventure
The Motorola Talkabout MS series two-way radios are completely waterproof and float, so they are perfect to take along on summer water adventures. The radios feature an hourglass waterproof design with rugged side grips, ideal for dad to pack on weekend paddling expeditions and even extended hunting expeditions in the rain. The radios meet IP-67 standards, withstanding submersion of up to one meter for 30 minutes. So, dad doesn't have to worry if he accidentally drops the radios into a stream when fly-fishing with his buddies. Or, if the family gets caught in a sudden rain shower while camping, the radios are engineered to withstand some of the harshest weather conditions and maintain dependable communications. The IP-67 standards also mean the radios are dust tight, so they're perfect to take along on summer beach outings without worry that the sand will cause harm.
The MS350R and MS355R two-way radios also feature eight repeater channels, which provide dad the power to extend his range transmission by accessing a repeater channel. And, on extended outdoor adventures, dad will appreciate Motorola's push-to-talk (PTT) power boost option. When activated, this feature can extend the range by increasing the transmitter power output – while helping save battery life when no power boost is necessary.
Ultra Convenient Features for Flexibility & Peace-Of-Mind in the Great Outdoors
The MS350R and MS355R radios are loaded with convenient features to keep dad prepared for changing weather conditions and provide peace-of-mind in the most challenging settings. Both models include an emergency alert feature and access to seven National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/Environment Canada (EC) weather channels and four marine VHF channels, which receive continuous broadcasts of local and regional weather updates. (1) For nighttime hunting and camping, and unexpected power outages, there is also a handy, built-in LED flashlight.
Serious hunters and sports enthusiasts will appreciate the MS355R, which is identical to the MS350R but available in REALTREE AP HD™ camouflage and equipped with two headsets with PTT microphone. Whether in pursuit of a buck or during a rigorous mountain climb, dad has the availability to communicate hands-free and without disturbing his surroundings with the convenience of the ear buds. T-Mobile boosts speed for iPhone, just in time for Apple event - GeekWire
T-Mobile USA remains the only major U.S. wireless carrier that doesn’t sell the iPhone, but the company’s wireless network will be at its best for people using unlocked iPhones on its network at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco next week.
With the help of one of its readers, the tech blog 9to5Mac this week discovered that T-Mobile had turned on the “4G” HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band in a small area around Moscone Center — perfect for unlocked iPhones running on the T-Mobile network. The reader noticed the change (technically from Edge to 3G) when walking by the venue.
T-Mobile confirmed the test in a statement to the site but said the timing and location were “just coincidental.”
WWDC kicks off Monday morning with a keynote presentation by Apple starting at 10 a.m.

T-Mobile to test HSPA+ in 1900 MHz for iPhone - FierceWireless
T-Mobile USA will turn on HSPA+ services in its 1900 MHz PCS spectrum at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, allowing unlocked Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhones on its network to take advantage of faster speeds during Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference next week.
"While upgrading coverage inside the West side of the Moscone Center, T-Mobile has also deployed 4G HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band to test the live network on a small scale," the company told 9to5Mac. "As part of the company's previously announced $4 billion network modernization effort, T-Mobile plans to launch 4G HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band in a large number of markets by the end of the year, which will make our 4G network compatible with a broader range of devices, including the iPhone."
T-Mobile insisted that the timing of the network change was purely coincidental. Apple is holding its annual conference for developers next week, with the keynote taking place Monday, and the event likely will generate widespread interest.
T-Mobile has noted for months that its network upgrade and spectrum refarming will give the more than one million unlocked iPhone users on its network faster speeds later this year.
Currently, customers who bring unlocked iPhones to T-Mobile can only get 2G EDGE data speeds, since the iPhone does not support T-Mobile's 1700 MHz AWS spectrum, which currently runs T-Mobile's HSPA+ network.
As part of its transition to deploy LTE on its 1700 MHz spectrum, T-Mobile will refarm its PCS spectrum to support both 2G GSM services and HSPA+ services. In a recent FCC filing, T-Mobile said by mid-2013, its expects half of its 1900 MHz spectrum to be devoted to GSM while the other half will run HSPA+ services, and that by then half of its AWS spectrum will support HSPA+ and the other half LTE.

Motorola launches two smartphones - in.com
Mumbai, Jun 8 (PTI) Cellphone maker Motorola today launched two smart phones, which are water-resistant, scratch-resistant and dust-proof. The smart phones --Motorola DEFY XT and DEFY MINI-- are the first smart phones in the country to feature MotoSwitch, a handy user interface that collects all the user preferences and stores them, which helps the user to be organised, the company said in a release. The Motorola DEFY XT has a 5-megapixel camera and the Motorola DEFY MINI has a 3-megapixel camera. "Our original Motorola DEFY was a hit all over Asia. We are now expanding our portfolio of water-resistant smart phones to give more choices without having to break the wallet," Motorola Mobility India country head (sales and operations) Rajan Chawla said. Motorola DEFY XT will be available at select retailers, priced at Rs 16,190, while the dual-sim Motorola DEFY MINI will be available from June 20, at Rs 11,490. PTI DS BEN
Motorola Atrix 3 aka Dinara getting ready for AT&T - Phones Review
Various handset manufacturers are constantly working on new hardware to tempt consumers to part with their cash, as soon as one new smartphone is released its not long before the next device is being leaked, and today we have news of the Motorola Atrix 3 aka Dinara is seemingly getting ready for AT&T.
As an article on The Verge is reporting it seems like Motorola’s next flagship smartphone for AT&T has been leaked. There has been rumours of a handset going under the codename of Dinara since the summer of last year, and a device going under the same name was launched in China late last year and was rumoured to be coming to AT&T ever since.
From the image that has been leaked it shows a display of either a 4.3 or 4.5-inches, and 720p HD running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and it seems the device is the natural successor to the Motorola Atrix 2. It also has on screen navigation keys so no hardware or capacitive buttons.
Going on previous leaks about the device the handset could come with the same 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 dual core processor that is also found in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 for the US, and the HTC One S. It has been suggested before that the rear camera could feature a thirteen megapixel sensor, and a two megapixel on the front for video calling.
While it can’t be guaranteed that the device in question will definitely be called the Motorola Atrix 3, looking at the image it shows the weather for Chicago and a July 26th date, so whether this is a little tease for when the device will be launching remains to be seen. We will hopefully hear more as we get further into summer and maybe some official confirmation may be provided.
Purported Motorola DROID RAZR HD images leak, but does anyone care? - Androinica (blog)
The Motorola DROID RAZR HD is the unofficial official sequel to the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX, meaning it contains the same type of design, but provides upgraded specs. Other than the large 3300 mAh battery built-into the RAZR MAXX, there was nothing Earth shattering about the device. Today, a couple of leaked photos and information about the RAZR HD simply confirms our suspicions, but doesn’t really surprise anyone.
Before I get into why I don’t think the Motorola DROID RAZR HD matters as much as it could, let me explain the specs and the image above. First, we have the same Kevlar backing completely taking over the back side of the device, much of what we found in the original DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX. Secondly, it is said to have a large HD (duh) display, but we can’t see the front side at this time. Motorola could go with something bold like a 4.7 inch display, or conservative with a 4.3 inch display. Other rumors include a 13MP rear facing camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4G LTE, Android 4.0, and on-screen navigation keys.
Essentially, the DROID RAZR HD is better than the RAZR MAXX in terms of specs and launches with Android 4.0 on board. It will likely contain a MotoBlur skin and a locked bootloader, causing a nightmare to those who wish to root it and run custom ROMS. In any event, it is said to launch later this summer at an unknown price point.
Now, I get the impression Samsung poured a lot of energy and resources into making the Galaxy S III a true flagship smartphone, while Motorola created another device simply to launch something. While the GS3 is a spec boost over the GS2, Samsung does do some really innovative things with AllShare Play, S Beam, Smart Stay, and ShareShot. Samsung contemplated deeply on how to make the GS3 appeal to the masses with its sharing features. Unless Motorola introduces some innovative functionality of its own with the DROID RAZR HD, it may just become another high-end 4G LTE smartphone Verizon happens to sell.
Motorola DEFY MINI and DEFY XT Officially Introduced in India - Softpedia
Customers will be able to purchase Motorola DEFY XT and DEFY XT for a suggested retail price of Rs 16,190 (290 USD or 235 EUR) and Rs 11,490 (205 USD or 165 EUR), respectively. Both smartphones will go on sale through selected retail stores.
Motorola DEFY MINI is already available worldwide in most countries, but the DEFY XT has been especially built for the Asian market.
Both rugged handsets are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but the DEFY XT seems to be superior when it comes to hardware.
Motorola DEFY MINI sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display (320 x 480 pixels), whereas the DEFY XT comes with a slightly larger 3.7-inch screen that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution. It is also worth mentioning that each display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
On the inside, the DEFY XT packs 512MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM, while the DEFY MINI has only 512MB of ROM and 512MB of RAM. Aside from that, both devices come with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
The Motorola DEFY XT sports a 5-megapixel camera and the DEFY MINI a 3-megapixel rear photo snapper. Both come with VGA front-facing cameras and 1650 mAh Li-Ion batteries.
“Our original Motorola DEFY was a hit all over Asia. We are now expanding our portfolio of water-resistant smartphones to give you more choices without having to break your wallet. Now you can stay connected all day long, through every adventure, and share your fun with everyone who matters most to you,” said Rajan Chawla, country head sales and operations, India, Motorola Mobility.
