Nokia's PureView 808 is all set to make its debut in U.S. The Symbian-powered device will be available for $699 on Amazon.
Chris Weber, Nokia's US chief confirmed this news in a blog post. The innovative smartphone will be available without any subsidy or lock in Amazon. But most of the unlocked device comes with a heavy price tag and the PureView won't be an exception here. People get to choose their preferred mobile operator. The smartphone can be used with AT&T and T-Mobile. But the problem with T-Mobile is, it will work at 2G speeds only.

For those who don't know about the Nokia 808 PureView yet, it's a Symbian mobile operating system based phone with a stunning 41 megapixel sensor camera. This camera also features Carl Zeiss optics and a latest pixel oversampling technology by Nokia. Moreover, you can zoom up to 3x without losing any details or creating artificial pixels in your images.
Another attractive feature of this device is full HD 1080p video recording with Nokia's rich audio recording feature that allows users to record audio with CD-like quality. This feature was available using only external microphones earlier. Nokia is planning to add this feature into the upcoming Windows mobile operating system based devices.
Amazon is planning to start the pre-sales from this week. But people interested to try this device should think again as its packed with an almost-dead mobile operating system, Symbian. People interested in trying this device can sign up on Nokia's website to receive notification when this device is available in the market.
Nokia Lumia 710 given Dark Knight Rises makeover - T3.com
Nokia has confirmed it is to expand its range of Batman themed Lumia handsets with the mid-range Windows Phone packing Nokia Lumia 710 coming in for a Dark Knight Rises makeover.
Following on from its high-end Lumia 800 sibling, Nokia has revealed that those looking to pick up the 3.7-inch Lumia 710 will now be able to plump for a special edition Dark Knight Rises branded option. What’s more, existing Lumia 710 owners will be able to select a new Dark Knight Rises cover free of charge.
Nokia Lumia 710 Dark Knight Rises Edition Specs
Unlike the Batman branded Lumia 800 which features the superhero’s infamous mark etched into the polycarbonate rear, 710 owners will be able to choose a selection of various hued interchangeable rear covers all of which will have the upcoming film’s logo splashed across them.
Available in five separate colour tones, those looking to add some Batman themed frivolity to their handset can select from cyan, white, magenta, yellow and the very fitting black options.
Underneath the hood the Dark Knight themed handsets are the same as the original Nokia Lumia 710 with a 1.4GHz single-core processor lining up alongside an 800 x 480p resolution 3.7-inch display and 512MB of RAM. With a 5-megapixel camera on the rear, the Lumia 710 is capable of capturing 720p HD video content at an impressive 30 frames-per-second.
Nokia Lumia 800 Dark Knight Rises Edition Release Date
Available in the UK now, Nokia’s latest collaboration with the upcoming Batman flick will be available from retailers until August 31st and can be snapped up on a selection of different tariffs and on a PAYG basis.

AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon to Carry Windows Phone 8 - PC Magazine
Microsoft announced Windows Phone 8 today, saying it would launch with Nokia, Huawei, Samsung and HTC phones. But these phones won't sell well in the U.S. market without support from the U.S. carriers.
We reached out to major U.S. operators to find out if they'll support Windows Phone 8. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon all confirmed that they will carry Windows Phone 8 devices. Cricket, MetroPCS and Sprint have stayed coy, and we haven't heard back from U.S. Cellular yet.
AT&T: The company sent me this statement. "AT&T plans to carry a new line of Windows Phone 8 smartphones launching later this year. The unmatched leader in Windows Phone – offering the very first 4G LTE Windows Phone smartphones in the U.S. – AT&T is home to the most robust Windows Phone portfolio of any carrier."
T-Mobile: "T-Mobile is very bullish on Windows 8 and will be a partner at launch," a company spokesman told us via e-mail. The carrier followed up with an official blog post extolling Windows Phone 8.
Verizon Wireless: "We have said publicly that we will support the Windows Phone 8 platform," a spokesperson told us via e-mail, but didn't give details on exactly when. However, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo told Reuters in April that the phones would be coming by the end of the year.
Cricket, MetroPCS, and Sprint are taking a wait-and-see approach.
Cricket: In May, Cricket told us that it's in discussions with OEMs on whether to carry Windows Phone 8. Today it said "we have said that we want to offer customers a range of choices regarding phones, plans and operating systems," but no more than that.
MetroPCS: "We'll continue to monitor the consumer adoption of Windows Phones in the marketplace," said Jay Moller, Metro's handset product planner.
Sprint: "We have a very strong relationship with our Microsoft partners, but we don't comment on products and services not yet announced." (Sprint's product head David Owens told us in May that he was "bullish" on WP8.)
T-Mobile Germany: no Apollo for Nokia Lumia 900 (Update: Official response) - SlashGear
Hopes were dashed for Windows Phone aficionados when it was reported in April that current handsets like the Nokia Lumia 900 may not receive an upgrade to Apollo (aka Windows Phone 8). the::unwired has now confirmed via a statement posted by a T-Mobile Germany representative that the handset definitely won’t be receiving the update. The latest information comes after T-Mobile customers pinged the operator asking when the handset was due to be released on the network.
The unlocked version of the Lumia 900 was released in Germany last week but was absent on T-Mobile. After customers queried the carrier, an employee responded by saying that the company won’t be offering the handset because it won’t receive an update to Apollo. T-Mobile believes that customers would be frustrated if a newly purchased handset would be left out on a future update.
The representative also confirmed that Apollo is due to be released in the fourth quarter of this year. A forum post wouldn’t normally be taken as concrete confirmation, but the::unwired believes that due to the strict nature of the German telecom industry, such information wouldn’t be posted unless it was thoroughly checked, confirmed, and authorized.
This latest piece of information comes after Microsoft developer Nuno Silva claimed that all current Windows Phone handsets would receive an update to Apollo later in the year. An anonymous Microsoft insider quickly denied the information, saying that phones would not be receiving the upgrade to “the next major version” of the OS.
UPDATE: the::unwired has been contacted by T-Mobile Germany with a response to the matter, saying that the forum post “isn’t an official statement from Deutsche Telekom” and that the company has “no information where the statement above came from.”
