When it comes to the Exynos 4 quad-core packed in the international version of Galaxy S3, it is an application processor which does not pack necessary radios for America's LTE network.
"Carriers using LTE all have different network requirements, due to different frequency bands as well as different 3G network-like CDMA and GSM technologies," said Nick DiCarlo, vice president of product planning for Samsung's mobile division, adding he expected the S3 in the US to perform as well as any other phone in the market, if not better.
"There are 150-plus designs in development using S4. Most of these are with two cores and integrated LTE because there are huge benefits of having LTE built in," added Tim McDonough, vice president of marketing for Qualcomm CDMA Technologies.
Samsung was likely to pack either the Exynos 4 quad processor or Texas Instrument's OMAP processor in the US version of the Galaxy Nexus. However, the US-bound Galaxy Nexus is thicker to house the necessary radios along with Exynos 4 quad processor to meet the LTE network requirements. Furthermore the LTE chip bundle could have made the Galaxy Nexus more costly and also impact battery life.

The mysterious Droid Razr HD is rumoured to come with a 4.7in HD screen. According to reports, the device is expected to come with an improved 720p HD display. It is expected to have a whopping 3300mAh battery and thereby the leaked photo suggests less hump design. Rest of the rumoured specs include a Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot with an additional memory space of 32GB.
Apart from the leaked photos, interestingly a benchmark of the device seems to confirm some of the smartphone's features, according to Droid Life. The NenaMark2 reveals that the device is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor which was clocked at 1.5GHz because the listing includes Qualcomm Adreno 225 GPU. In addition, the benchmark shows up that the device will run on the Android 4.0.4 and it has an HD 720p screen with a resolution of 1196 x 720. The NenaMark2 benchmark confirms the device will be headed to Verizon. There is no official announcement about the device's date of release; however, Droid Life guesses that it is still 5-8 weeks away from the release.

Samsung attacks Apple's Galaxy S3 ban bid - PC Advisor
Samsung has vowed to fight Apple and its attempts to ban the sale of its Galaxy S3 smartphone in the US.
Samsung defends Galaxy S3 against Apple attack
Apple is trying to stop sales of the Samsung Galaxy S3 by hitching the highly rated new Android smartphone to its existing case against the Galaxy Nexus smartphone. Samsung opposes Apple's attempt to link the motions together.
Samsung Galaxy S3 video review
Apple claims the Galaxy S3 infringes at least two of its patents.

"The Galaxy S3 will... irreparably harm Apple for the same reasons as the Galaxy Nexus, but on a much greater scale," said Apple lawyer Mark Lyon.
"The central premise of Samsung's opposition to Apple's motion for a preliminary injunction was that the Galaxy Nexus had not sold sufficiently well to cause severe enough harm to Apple.
“While that argument is legally and factually untenable, it is entire inapplicable with respect to the Galaxy S3, which reportedly will sell phenomenally well immediately upon launch."
Samsung denies the accusation, and has promised its customers that the launch would proceed as planned on June 21.
Samsung dismissed Apple’s request as "without merit".
Any ban "would only serve to disrupt consumers' access to the latest innovative technology," pleaded the Korean tech giant.
"We will vigorously oppose the request and demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S3 is innovative and distinctive," said Samsung.
"We would also like to assure consumers that the US launch and sales of the Galaxy S III will proceed as planned."

Patents Apple alleges Samsung has infringed
The patents defended by the iPhone maker are US Patent No. 8,086,604 relating to an universal interface for retrieval of information in a computer system, and Patent No. 5,946,647 regarding a system and method for performing an action on a structure in computer-generated data.
Universal interface for retrieval of information in a computer system:
“The present invention provides convenient access to items of information that are related to various descriptors input by a user, by means of a unitary interface which is capable of accessing information in a variety of locations, through a number of different techniques. Using a plurality of heuristic algorithms to operate upon information descriptors input by the user, the present invention locates and displays candidate items of information for selection and/or retrieval. Thus, the advantages of a search engine can be exploited, while listing only relevant object candidate items of information.“
System and method for performing an action on a structure in computer-generated data:
“A system and method causes a computer to detect and perform actions on structures identified in computer data. The system provides an analyzer server, an application program interface, a user interface and an action processor. The analyzer server receives from an application running concurrently data having recognizable structures, uses a pattern analysis unit, such as a parser or fast string search function, to detect structures in the data, and links relevant actions to the detected structures. The application program interface communicates with the application running concurrently, and transmits relevant information to the user interface. Thus, the user interface can present and enable selection of the detected structures, and upon selection of a detected structure, present the linked candidate actions. Upon selection of an action, the action processor performs the action on the detected structure.“
Samsung Galaxy S3 release dates
The smartphone was launched in May in the UK.
Samsung said earlier this month that the Galaxy S III will be available in the US starting this month from five carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and US Cellular.
Motorola Droid RAZR HD release nears as images leak - Phones Review
Last year Motorola reintroduced the RAZR range of smartphones that had previously been hugely successful for the company, and shortly after provided Android fans with the RAZR MAXX and its supercharged battery. Today though we have news of the Motorola Droid RAZR HD as the release of the device seemingly gets nearer after some images leak.
The guys over at Droid Life have been provided with some images of the upcoming smartphone, and by looking on the handsets back plate it can be seen that the device is definitely on route to Verizon at some point and their 4G LTE network. The handset keeps some of the look of the RAZR from last year, but the back plate is now full Kevlar and loses that extra rim of plastic around it.
If the device is similar to the RAZR HD that has been seen in China it will sport a thirteen megapixel camera, which has been positioned in the middle of the handset with a flash and speaker either side of it. From the images there is a slight hump that is likely to be the 3,300 mAh battery, which is also found on the RAZR MAXX.
The source of the images is claiming that the screen is “amazing”, and should be a 4.5-inch 720p HD unit. There is also on screen navigation keys but the processor powering the device couldn’t be confirmed, which is believed to be a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 unit.
Motorola has again decided to position the USB and HDMI ports on the bottom side of the handset again, which is similar to the likes of the Droid Bionic and X2. The RAZR had both ports positioned on the top of the device though, which some didn’t like. Just like the Motorola Dinara that was leaked yesterday the handset should come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Currently there are no clues of a release date for the Motorola Droid RAZR HD, but some are suggesting by the end of the summer.
Motorola Droid Razr HD Photos Leaked Online: Getting Snapdragon S4, 13-megapixel Camera and 3,300 mAh Battery - mobilenapps.com
- Motorola Droid Razr HD Photos Leaked Online(Photo: Droid Life)
There has been a significant increase in leaks and rumors regarding Motorola Droid Razr HD recently. For the first time, the smartphone was revealed as Motorola Droid Fighter back in March this year. And now, images of the smartphone have surface online, showing off the side and rear view of the device.
The shots leaked by Droid Life clearly show the 4G LTE and Verizon logos at the back. The camera is placed in the centre with LED flash and speaker on either side. Labeled as "HD Video", the sensor is believed to be 13-megapixel. The Droid Razr HD looks identical to the original Motorola Droid Razr with some minor design changes. Removing the plastic border around the device, the backplate has gone full Kevlar.

Underneath the backplate is massive 3,300 mAh battery that reminds us of Droid Razr Maxx, which is well known for excellent battery performance. The battery will easily last a day or two on moderate to heavy usage. The side of smartphone accommodates microUSB port, microHDMI port and a volume rocker.
The sources revealed to Droid Life that the HD screen is amazing, but the tipster didn't provided any photo captured from the front of the smartphone. HD screen refers to 720p displays like Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. On-screen navigation keys are also expected.
It looks like that Motorola is departing from Texas Instrument's OMAP processor in favor of Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The device is expected to run Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with LTE radios on the board. The device is tipped to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
In a recent leak, Droid Razr HD was spotted in Cellebrite system as model number XT926. Past rumors have also pointed out to 720p display and 3,300 mAh battery along with 4.6-inch screen size.
The device is tipped to debut later this summer.
Motorola DROID RAZR HD undergoes benchmark test on its way to Verizon - PhoneDog
Looks like the Motorola DROID RAZR HD can't get enough of the leaky spotlight. After appearing in a Cellebrite system late last month and then posing for some leaked photos yesterday, the upcoming Verizon 4G LTE smartphone has now appeared in a Nenamark benchmark test. The test results show that the RAZR HD features a processor clocked at 1.5GHz and an Adreno 225 GPU, the latter of which means that the processor is of the dual-core Snapdragon S4 variety. Other features named by the Nenamark benchmark include Android 4.0.4, Verizon branding and a screen resolution of 1196x720, likely indicating the presence of on-screen navigation keys.
Overall there's nothing terribly surprising to be found in these benchmark results, but for anyone that's looking forward to the next member of Verizon's DROID RAZR family, it's nice to continue to see the pieces of the puzzle come together. Unfortunately for those same people, though, we're still without one of the most important details of the RAZR HD: the release date. Droid-Life has heard that the phone may still be a couple of months out, so folks that are interested in the RAZR HD may want to begin hoping that these leaks to continue, otherwise they may be tempted by another Verizon LTE smartphone that's right around the corner.

Motorola ATRIX 3 Emerges in Allegedly Leaked Photo - Softpedia
There was a certain device codenamed “Dinara” included among the rumored handsets for these carriers, and that very phone has allegedly emerged online.
The smartphone is expected to hit shelves as Motorola ATRIX 3, and will be launched on AT&T’s network with the latest flavor of Google’s mobile operating system, namely Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
As The Verge points out, “Dinara” was launched in China in late 2011, with pretty decent hardware specifications.
However, we might expect for Motorola to bump up the specs list of this mobile phone to make it fit for the demand in the United States.
The phone could be released with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor, a 4-3 or 4-5-inch screen, a high-quality camera on the back (some suggest it might be 13MP), and a front camera for making video calls.
Featuring an HD touchscreen display, the smartphone should arrive on shelves as a great successor for the Motorola ATRIX 2, which landed at AT&T last year too.
It seems that the actual arrival date for the phone is drawing near, and that AT&T might have it available for purchase on or around July 26th this year.
Moreover, the carrier is expected to make the handset available at a price tag similar with the one featured by ATRIX 2, namely around $99 at launch.
If so, users will be able to grab another appealing yet affordable handset on the carrier’s network, in addition to flagship smartphones such as the Galaxy S III.
If rumors were to be believed, ATRIX 3 will be released with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network as well. Moreover, the handset should pack Motorola’s own interface on top of Google’s Android platform.
