We quite often bring you news of more affordable Android smartphones here on Phones Review, but today we can tell you about the cheaper Windows Phone handset from Nokia in the shape of the Lumia 610, which will have a low contract price via UK stores.
The handset is now available to consumers in the UK, and while it may not compare to the rest of the Lumia range, according to Engadget it will be available on a contract from as little as £15 per month. Nokia are stating that the handset will be offered by O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Virgin Mobile, and Vodafone. Consumers will also be able to pick one up via high street retailers such as Phones 4u and the Carphone Warehouse.
Nokia is calling the device the most affordable Lumia smartphone so far, and it will come in four colour choices that include black, white, magenta, and cyan. The specifications of the Lumia 610 don’t quite match up to the 710, 800, or 900 and features a single core 800 MHz processor with only 256MB of RAM. There is also an eight megapixel camera and 8GB of on board storage, and previously Microsoft released a Tango update for the platform that would allow lower end devices such as the Lumia 610 to use the operating system.
Even though most things will run smoothly on the handset there are a number of applications that won’t run on the device, but you do get the Nokia Drive, Maps, and Music applications preinstalled on the handset as well as Xbox Live integration. Users also get the Microsoft Office application that gives access to Excel, PowerPoint, and Word while on the go. Meanwhile OneNote mobile allows users to quickly capture notes, pictures, voice memos, and ideas.
The device is also available via online retailer Amazon in black for only £167.99, while on rival retailer Play it’s even cheaper at £159.99. Do you like the look of the Nokia Lumia 610?
Chiquito pours cocktails the Sex and the City girls would be proud of (From News Shopper) - News Shopper
Chiquito pours cocktails the Sex and the City girls would be proud of at The O2, Greenwich
11:08am Thursday 31st May 2012 in Freetime latest news By Nikki Jarvis
“And...suck” our cheeky photographer instructed us as we tackled the most gigantic margarita I’ve ever seen.
In true Sex and the City style we’d gone out for an evening of cocktails, naughty innuendos and gossip – and our snapper had gleefully stepped into the role of Samantha Jones.
Faced with a drinks list Carrie would give her right Manolo for, I knew instantly Chiquito, North Greenwich was going to show us a good time.
From the classic Woo Woo to a chilli margarita this buzzing Mexican restaurant offers 44 cocktails to pick from along with seven different kinds of tequila.
There are also nine varieties of sharing cocktails (£17.99 each), perfect for a girly night out with your besties.
We watched our expert barman create a small swimming pool’s worth of Strawberry Margarita and eagerly dived in.
Dangerously easy to drink, the ice-cold concoction swept us all back to our younger days of slurping Slush Puppies – but this time around they were certainly not virgins.
However, if you are unlucky enough to be the designated driver there are plenty of delicious sounding mocktails and milkshakes on the menu.
And although getting giggly and tipsy is a lot of fun, the atmosphere is so lively, warm and happy in this place it’s easy to get the same high with an Appletiser in hand instead of a Pina Colada.
The food is lush too.
To soak up our ocean of booze we ordered a plate of Sharing Nachos with melted cheese, jalapeƱo peppers, guacamole, sour cream and salsa (£7.99) as a starter – absolutely delicious.
I went for the Lazy Boy BBQ Pulled Pork Quesadilla with luxurious melted cheese and a fresh salad to follow (£7.49).
Listed as a lighter bite for smaller appetites, I was surprised at the generous portion.
Since going to Orlando, Florida and developing an unhealthy obsession with pulled pork, I haven’t been able to find anything that matched up to the Sunshine State’s smoky dish.
But my quest is over.
The melt-in-your-mouth pulled pork at Chiquito is absolutely to die for – so long diet.
In a way it’s quite a good thing I can’t afford Carrie’s mind-blowing wardrobe because right now I would be busting my Dior dress at the $1,000 seams.
It was worth it though.
If you haven’t seen your closest gal pals for a while I implore you to grab them and run to Chiquito at The O2 while the weather is still nice.
Summer wouldn’t be the same without a few cocktails, gorgeous food and great company in the city.

The O2 to host Jamaica House - eventmagazine.co.uk
Set to host most of the Jamaican athletes including 100 and 200 metres world record holder Usain Bolt and his national rival Yohan Blake, Jamaica House will be providing a range of entertainment for guests of the nation.
It will also provide a platform for media and business interactions to those lucky enough to be invited to Jamaica House.
This news comes just a week after The O2 announced it will also be hosting Jamaica 50, which is set to celebrate the last 50 years of Jamaican independence with a number of gigs from artistes including Damian Marley and Lee 'Stratch' Perry.
The event will take place in the both Proud2 and IndigO2 from 25 July-6 August.
In April plans were scrapped for a Jamaica festival in Finsbury Park during the Olympic Games after organisers failed to raise adequate funding for the project.
